Massage: Good for the Mind, Body and Soul.

Hello!

My name is Lindsey Howe. I am a Certified Massage Therapist located in Bedford, IN at The Loft Salon and Spa.

I attended Associates of  Integrative Health Massage Therapy School located in Bloomington, IN.  At AIH, I was taught various types of massage modalities. Of those modalities, I specialize in Swedish and Deep Tissue Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Medical Massage Therapy, Prenatal Massage, Myofascial Release, and Structural Integration.  I also offer Hot Stone Massage Therapy as well as spa body treatments such as mud wraps and sea salt exfoliation.

Before attending Massage Therapy school, I worked in local healthcare facilites such as doctor's offices, hospitals, nursing homes, private care, etc. as part of the nursing staff. Healthcare is my passion and after coming to the decision of wanting to spend more one-on-one attention with people and their specific needs and provide more of a natural healing approach with less drug treatment and more focus on addressing the problem and not just treating the symptom, I decided to make a career change and attend Massage Therapy School. After completing Massage Therapy school, I went on to become Indiana State Certified. I started out doing in-home massage therapy sessions for clients who were homebound. I have been employed by a few local Chiropractic offices and Spas.  At first, I was never interested in the "Spa Massage" idea, I wanted to continue working in the healthcare field and focus more on the medical aspect of it, and quickly realized I was not able for various reasons to focus completely on the client and their specific need in a chiropractic setting, but was still able to incorporate Medical Massage in a spa setting while having plenty of time and flexibilty to care for my client appropriately. I have worked with many different types of clients with different ailments such as autoimmune disorders like fibromyalgia, thyroid disorders, post surgery patients, cancer patients, geriatrics, hospice care, athletes, as well as many other types of clients.

My passion is educating clients on the important health benefits that Massage Therapy offers. Massage is not just a luxury treatment, it is also an accepted alternative  healthcare treatment.  After more and more studies have been and continue to be conducted, it is becoming increasingly clear how beneficial Massage Therapy is in helping to reduce pain and muscle fatigue, chronic illness, hypertension, reduce stress levels, improve mood and wellbeing, reduce joint pain and swelling, improving range of motion, increase circulation, alleviate low back pain and headaches, increase energy levels as well as so many other health benefits. Many Health Insurance Companies are also starting to including Massage Therapy in their member benefits packages.

I want nothing more than to share my knowledge and passion for the many wonderful benefits of Massage Therapy and educate everyone in the community.  Please help me spread the word and share with all your friends and family. Don't just take my word for it. Come in or call to schedule an appointment and experience the magic for yourself.
